Level 3 Award in Education and Training (this qualification has replaced PTLLS)

This award is completed by a combination of distance learning and classroom work dependent upon your experience and qualifications.

There are 3 modules called Units 1, 2 and 5.

Units 1 and 5 have a number of questions which can either be answered individually or the Unit can be answered as a whole by a very large essay. Unit 2 has a number of questions and a micro-teach assessment. Core text books are available that cover the areas explored by the questions; these can purchased by yourself prior to the course or sent to you as a supplement.

This new qualification requires classroom input from us as the tutors to guide you on your learning journey. Candidates must complete a literacy, numeracy and IT test before starting the course unless you have GCSE English, Maths and IT or equivalent.

Level 3 Deliver of Conflict Management Tutors Award

The Conflict Management qualification is in two parts.

Unit 1

You will be required to sit and pass a Level 2 Exam in Conflict Management which is made up of multiple choice questions.

Unit 2

You will complete a workbook during 3 classroom days where you will also learn how to teach the subject through the use of scenarios (this course and qualification not only gives you the material and understanding to deliver security personnel; we have had the course Endorsed through NOCN allowing you to deliver conflict management to other sectors such as the care industry).

The micro-teach assessment is 30 minutes and is video recorded. Where you will demonstrate the use of scenarios to the group.

You will then be required to complete a portfolio for submission to the awarding body. This will require a few more documents to be added to your work.

Level 3 Physical Intervention Tutors Award

This is a combination of class room learning and practical assessment sessions over a 5 day period. You will be required to attend all the training days and complete a portfolio.
Unit 1 will be 2 days and Unit 2 will be 3 Days.

You will need to complete and pass both units before applying for your level 3 Certificate. These units can be taught consecutively or as separate units.

You must pass Unit 1 before attending Unit 2.

On Unit 1 you will be required to on this course to complete a level 2 qualification in Physical Invention. You can be exempt doing the written exam if you have a valid Door Supervisors Certificate that shows you have done level 2 Physical Intervention or the new Up-skilling course.

On completion of this course you will be provided with lesson plans, delegate books and documentation to be a level 3 trainer allowing you to teach level 2 Door supervisors. You will also receive a full licence agreement allowing you to use all the material while your licence is valid. This can be downloaded free of charge.

The techniques taught on this course have also been approved and recognised within other professions such as the health care sector.

Endorsed Advanced Physical Intervention Tutors Award

Within various industries some staff are required to attend situations that require them to apply techniques to contain or escort a person to a different location that require them to deviate from the level 2 programme; such as restraining an individual on the floor. This will be based on the fact that the risk is greater than the techniques taught at level 2 will allow.

The New Endorsed Advanced Programme allows the member of staff to apply techniques that have been risked assessed and approved. You will not need to be an approved centre to deliver this course or certificate your delegates.

Endorsed Handcuff Instructors Award

Situations can occur where due to the level of force an individual is demonstrating you are required to use handcuffs to escort a person to a different location or the person that is being restrained needs a different method of restraint that will cause less injury to you and them. This could be a condition of your employment or a requirement of your client; for example this programme has been rolled out to employees of Her Majesties Courts and Tribunal Service and other government agencies.

The New Endorsed Advanced Programme allows the member of staff to apply techniques that have been risk assessed and approved. You will not need to be an approved centre to deliver this course or certificate your delegates.

Additional Information

If you wish to undertake the Conflict Management, Physical Intervention and Handcuff Instructors Courses you will be required to be in possession of a current Adult Teaching Qualification. If it is not considered valid by the Awarding Body then you will have to undertake the new Level 3 Award in Education and Training before you can proceed. Discussion about this and your qualification status can take place with our Awarding Body prior to you attending the course.
